5 “MUST-HAVE” PERFUMES FOR LADIES

Creed - Jardin d'Amalfi

Anyone who knows me will tell you that Hadiza loves good perfumes. This insane love started back in the year 2015 when I joined a group of friends who believed that, a lady can get anything she wants if she is smells good. I was in Uni back then, and it was like a competition between us. It is around that time that I started collecting perfumes and from since then till now, I have gathered a little over 70 bottles. Today I will share with you, 5 “Must-Have” perfumes for you as a lady.

Loose Leaf Tea or Tea Bags?

Tea Lovers will always find themselves in a ‘tea bag or loose leaf’ debate. And if you are team loose-leaf like I am, you probably first started with tea bags before you got introduced to Loose Leaf. And it is the same for me, I started with Lipton, Top Tea, Twinning and Ahmad Tea in that order. Around 2017, there was Batsam Tea which I also drank a lot. But all that stopped the moment I was introduced to Loose Leaf Tea and hopefully, this blog post will convince you to join the Team.

Biotène Review

I have been a believer and a big supporter of the GSK Brand for more than a decade now. In 2013, I started using Sensodyne toothpaste and mouthwash, but got disappointed when the fake flooded the market. Then discovered Corsodyl in 2014 and absolutely fell in love. But the problem I faced with it around 2015 is that, the market started being flooded with a diluted version of it. So, I moved to Pronamel and I was using the toothpaste and mouthwash. Around 2016, it was becoming hard to find the original of these ones. So, I started using Forever Aloe Vera Tooth gel and was importing Corsodyl through Amazon. So you see it’s been quite the journey for me. Good thing is that, I just got introduced to another great one from the house of GSK and it is called Biotène.

COMPARISON: YOGURT OR SMOOTHIE BOWL

So many times, I have been asked this question. Which is better? A yogurt bowl or a smoothie bowl? Believe it or not, this is a difficult question. Growing up in Douala as a child, yogurt was the way to my heart. But is there really any child out there who does not like yogurt? I highly doubt. I am now in my late 20s and yogurt is still something I cannot say ‘NO’ to. When it comes to smoothie, I honestly cannot remember it being given to me as a child. My parents never gave it to me and I can understand why. The first time I was introduced to smoothie, I was already a teenager and I cannot say I was impressed. In this post, I will tell you how I transited from ‘smoothie skeptic’ to ‘smoothie believer’, and also compare yogurt and smoothie bowls, so you can choose what might work best for you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024

A new year always starts off with excitement. It’s a chance to think back on the past and plan for the future. The year 2023 was a challenging year for all of us Nigerians, because it started off with the Naira redesign policy from the Central Bank. I remember how crazy it was around this time last year. We literally had to buy the Naira with Naira. I think 10,000 Naira was sold for 3000 Naira or so. And in the midst of it all, we had to deal with preparations for the general elections. And after the elections, everything was so slow. It was as if nothing was moving and everyone was waiting for the new government to come in before things begin to normalize. Gosh, what a crazy year it was!!! But, Alhamdulillah is all I have to say because even with all the drama that 2023 started with, it was also an amazing year for me because I achieved so much, especially career wise.

BLACK TURTLE BEANS AND POTATO STEW

Early this week, I had my Instagram followers drooling over this special meal. The last time I ate this was definitely while growing up as a kid in Cameroon. You have to know that, the beans they grow in Cameroon is very different from the ones we grow here in Nigeria. In Cameroon, they grow navy beans, pinto beans, red beans, black turtle beans and their other relatives. A friend who just returned from Cameroon, brought me some black turtle beans, and you needed to have been there to see the joy all over my face. The recipe for this has been stuck in my head since childhood and I am sharing it with you today.

ROASTED TOMATO SAUCE

This tomato sauce is my all time favorite sauce to make. I came up with the original recipe in 2018, which didn’t require roasting the tomatoes and also didn’t require frying the meat. In 2021, I made a few changes to the recipe, by deep frying the beef and roasting the tomatoes, tatashe, ginger and garlic. These changes took this sauce to another level and I have not made tomato sauce any other way, since then.

ROASTED BEEF STOCK

Years ago, I learnt that there is magic in meat stock. If you are one of those who still cook with just water, hehehe… my sister what is wrong with you?😂 Let me tell you something_ stock is a much better liquid for your cooking than simple water. From fried rice, to jollof rice or even something as simple as indomie, use stock instead of water and you will see the difference. Am going to show you how I make a good beef stock and I hope you take this to your kitchen.
