Anyone who knows me will tell you that Hadiza loves good perfumes. This deep love began back in 2015, when I joined a group of friends who believed that a lady can get anything she wants — as long as she smells good. I was in uni at the time, and it felt like a competition between us. That was when I started collecting perfumes, and since then, I’ve gathered a little over 70 bottles. Today, I’m sharing 5 “must-have” perfumes every lady should own.
1. YSL – Libre Intense
This perfume right here is world-class. Wear it to an event, and heads will turn as you walk by. Just a little goes a long way — you don’t need to spray much, and it clings to your dress for days. I absolutely love and cherish this one. I wore it to an interview once, and the rest was history. There’s an original version called “Libre,” but I strongly recommend the Intense version for that extra edge.
2. COCO CHANEL – Mademoiselle Intense
The thing is, I was never a fan of Coco Chanel — until I used this perfume. The strong patchouli note alone was love at first sniff. Patchouli always gets me, and this perfume is heavy on it. It also carries a rich floral scent, which is what makes it a must-have. Honestly, if you’re trying to impress a guy and you wear this perfume, you’ve already scored 70%. It’s worth both the hype and the price. Another reason I love it? It lasts so long. Mademoiselle Intense works for any occasion — date night, birthday party, hangout with friends, even a business meeting — it will always come through.
3. Jean Pierre Gaultier – So Scandal
If you want to be that sexy and seductive goddess, this is the bottle that you absolutely need. Out of all the JPG Scandal flankers, this is the winner straight up. The sweet floral tuberose scent is going to make every man submit to you instantly, and am not even joking. If you want to know how long this perfume lasts, just spray it on any of your shirts and keep it. Come back to that shirt after some days, it will still be there. This perfume was well constructed and well done. Utterly feminine and totally worth it. I mean… look at those legs… Oh my… I love it so much.
4. Bvlgari – Goldea
I’d like to start by saying that House Bvlgari deserves a round of applause for this masterpiece. They did not disappoint us!!! If you have had this bottle in your shopping cart for a while now and deliberating whether or not to buy this, drop everything you are doing right now and pay!!! You will not regret this purchase. This is a white musky floral scent, with notes of patchouli and ylang ylang altogether, I just can’t place it. The combination of notes in this perfume was done by experts. I can’t scream enough about how amazing this perfume is. If you are on a mission to conquer the world, this perfume must be by your side.
5. Creed – Jardin d’Amalfi
This is what we mean by: “Saving the best for last.” Creed has a collection called Les Royales Exclusives, and you absolutely need to check it out. Jardin d’Amalfi is one of six perfumes in this royal lineup. Not many people know about this collection, let alone talk about it. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but if you can get your hands on this bottle, you’ll feel the worth of every single penny.
In the exact words of Creed: “Zesty citrus notes blend with rich florals and a seductive musk and vetiver base.”
This perfume wasn’t made for little girls — it was made for Madam CEO. I can’t think of a more outstanding fragrance for a queen than this one. Supremely elegant, heavenly, and a total head-turner with a strong sillage. I highly recommend this perfume for ladies in their late 20s and above — it’s not one for teenage girls or early 20s vibes.
CLOSING NOTES
Just as I said before, I will not recommend any of these 5 perfumes for teenage girls who are in school, because these are highly seductive perfumes and there is high level of pheromone in all 5 of them. In this current inflation, the prices for these perfumes range from 200,000 Naira, with Jardin d’Almalfi costing a little close to a Million Naira. If you want to buy just one out of these 5 and you ask me to help you make a choice, I will say you should go for YSL Libre Intense.
